A native of Los Angeles, Shant was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley. He obtained the Alumni Scholarship Award and graduated from University of California, Berkeley with a bachelors degree in Political Science.  From northern California, Shant returned to Los Angeles, attended Southwestern Law School and was awarded the prestigious Wildman/Schumacher scholarship. At Southwestern, Shant also received the CALI Excellence for the future award in business planning.

When he is away from his office, Shant is active in the local community.  He regularly volunteers and provides pro-bono legal services to non-profit organizations in his local community.
